Group 25 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project is represented by ONE LINE of descendants of Sheriff John Carpenter, VIA son Joshua Carpenter-1734 who is believed to be the father of James Carpenter-1582 of Group 25 called the Delaware Carpenters in the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project. They are cited but not fully explored, as cited in this record, in the book: “SAMUEL CARPENTER AND HIS DESCENDANTS" complied by Edward Carpenter and published in 1912 by his son, Gen. Louis H. Carpenter.

Joshua Carpenter-1734 (Group 25) followed his brother Samuel Carpenter-1582 (of Group 28) to the new world and Philadephia in 1683.

Group 28 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project is represented by ONE LINE of descendants of Sheriff John Carpenter, whose son Samuel Carpenter-1582 is described in the book: “SAMUEL CARPENTER AND HIS DESCENDANTS" complied by Edward Carpenter and published in 1912 by his son, Gen. Louis H. Carpenter. Samuel Carpenter-1582, the immigrant, came to Philadelphia from Barbados in 1683. He was born 4 Nov 1649 in Horsham, Sussex, England and died 10 Apr 1714 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.

These descendent lineages include those who have been Y-DNA tested and are part of Group 25 & 28 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project.
