Group 28 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project is represented by the descendants of Sheriff John Carpenter, whose son Samuel Carpenter-1582 is described in the book: “SAMUEL CARPENTER AND HIS DESCENDANTS" complied by Edward Carpenter and published in 1912 by his son, Gen. Louis H. Carpenter. Samuel Carpenter-1582, the immigrant, came to Philadelphia from Barbados in 1683. He was born 4 Nov 1649 in Horsham, Sussex, England and died 10 Apr 1714 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.
