Subject: Fw: Our Carpenter DNA
John,
Sharon Carpenter recently informed me that you were starting a new FTDNA group for Les and Scott Carpenter. She and I have recently established my autosomal DNA connection to her husband Les - easily my closest FamilyFinder connection to date.
My interest in my Carpenter connections was heightened a while back when I discovered that Daniel and Sarah Ann Carpenter were duplicate 3G-grandparents of mine - both on my mother’s AND my father’s side. So I would be interested in your project. However, I note that your project is focused on Y-DNA relationships. My double Carpenter connections are each via a different female descendant of Daniel Carpenter, so my YDNA would not be relevant.
I know, however, of no connection to a DNA through “Sorenson”; my DNA sample is only about a couple years old.
My DNA sample is already on record with Family Tree DNA. (ID: xxxxxxxx) I have tested for FamilyFinder, YDNA, and MtDNA. And later, more-detailed YDNA testing has established my Y-haplogroup as R-FGC22501 (more-specifically, by a different testing company, as R-FGC22516).
Thank you.

Daniel Carpenter was born about 1780 in Maryland, died on 4 Oct 1852 in Nottingham Twp., Harrison County, Ohio about age 72, and was buried after 4 Oct 1852 in McGee Cemetery, Stock Twp., Harrison Co., Ohio.
General Notes: March 27, 1997
From Ronald Dale Kirkpatrick:
Daniel's tombstone is still standing and legible in  Mcgee Cemetery. Sarah was probably buried beside him but  there is no tombstone.
...
Sarah's name was found in Jefferson County, Ohio  Marriage Records, Volume1, 1789 to 1839.  There is  uncertainty as to where she was born. In the 1850 & 1860  census she was listed as born in Ohio.  In the 1880 census,  her son Samuel Carpenter, stated that both parents were  born in Maryland.  This may be true as Ohio was pretty much  a frontier in 1793. Sarah's date of birth is estimated from  Cenus records.
Noted events in his life were: • He appeared on the census in 1840 in German Twp., Harrison County, Ohio.
• He appeared on the census in 1850 in Nottingham Twp., Harrison County, Ohio.
• He appeared on the census in 1860 in Nottingham Twp., Harrison County, Ohio.

Murrysville, its formal legal name in its Charter as "The Municipality of Murrysville", is designated as a home rule status community in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 20,079 at the 2010 census. It became a home rule Municipality in August 1976, when its electorate voted for its Charter designating it a Municipality.[3]
The Municipality of Murrysville is located at 40°26′5″N 79°39′24″W (40.434828, -79.656724).[4] It is roughly 20 miles east of Pittsburgh on U.S. Route 22,[5] just east of the county line that separates Westmoreland and Allegheny counties. Murrysville is a control city on the sign for eastbound US 22 at the eastern end of I-376 in Monroeville.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Municipality had a total area of 36.9 square miles (96 km2), of which, 36.9 square miles (96 km2) of it is land and 0.03% is water.
Among the neighborhoods within Murrysville are Murrysville Heights, Heather Highlands, Franklin Estates, Settlers Ridge (The Ridge), Dunningtown, Newlonsburg, Ringertown, Sardis, and White Valley. Murrysville surrounds, but does not include, the Borough of Export, which is a separate municipal entity.
