ANDERSON
Richard Fountain Anderson, son of Dr. Walter L. Anderson and Edith Fountain Anderson, was born in Chariton, Ia., on October 3, 1907. He died at the Medical Center in Des Moines, Ia. on February 2, 1976 at the age of 68 years, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife, Margaret and one son, Stephen and wife Nancy and two granddaughters, Melinda and Karla of Des Moines.
On November 20, 1929, Richard was married to Margaret Timmins in Glendale, Calif., where they made their home for four years. They returned to Ottumwa, Ia., where their son Stephen was born. They returned to Chariton in 1939 where they have since lived.
Richard was an employee of the State Liquor Commission for five years until he became an employee of the Chariton Wholesale Grocery in 1945, being with this company for 25 years until retiring in 1969.
Funeral services were conducted by Father Richard Lintner at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.

MARGARET ANDERSON
Margaret Anderson, 97, passed away at Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center March 18, 2005. Memorial services were held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Chariton, Friday, April 22, at 10 a.m.
Margaret Rose (Timmins) Anderson was born Sept. 10, 1907 in Albia, Iowa, to Albert H. and Margaret Byrde Timmins.
Following the death of her mother in 1911, she lived with relatives in Marshalltown until 1915 when her father remarried and gathered the family together in Chariton.
Margaret attended the Chariton Public Schools, graduating from Chariton High School in 1925. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. and moved to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1929.
She married Richard F. Anderson Nov. 28, 1929 in Glendale, Calif. They returned to Chariton in 1932 and moved to Ottumwa in 1934. They returned to Chariton in 1939 and Margaret continued to live there.
Margaret was a long time member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and PEO. She was active in her community in a variety of clubs and organizations.
She is survived by her son Stephen (Nancy) of West Des Moines, granddaughters Melinda (Jack) Trudell of Madison, Wisc., Karla Anderson of Des Moines, and great-grandchildren Tysa Garrett, Sam and Ruby Trudell, her brother-in-law Jim Tullis of Fairfield and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Georgia Timmins, Richard F. Anderson, her husband of 46 years, her brother Quig Timmins, sisters Kathryn Adkisson and Jane Tullis, and great-grandson Max Trudell.
Margaret enjoyed her family, her church and playing bridge with her friends.
Fielding Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with Fr. Richard Lintner officiating and burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.

She was born December 12, 1921. She was the daughter of Martin Pierce and Maude May (Altwood) Eakle.
They were married August 15, 1905. Martin Pierce Eakle was born February 12, 1882, in Ogle County, Illinois, and died October, 1942.
Maude May (Altwood) Eakle was born July 11, 1887, in Ogle County, Illinois.
Illene's maternal grandparents were Frank Altwood and Ruetta (Cole) Altwood.
Her great grandfather and great grandmother were Henry Cole and Alpha (Sanford) Cole. They were early settlers in Ogle County, Illinois. They settled there before 1840.

DEKALB - Frank Wayne Carpenter, 73, DeKalb, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Ile was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Opdyke, Ill., the son of Frank and Hazel (Moore) Cezpenter. On June 21, 1941, he married Illene E. Eakle in Oregon. A 1936 graduate of Rochelle High School, Mr. Carpenter was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II, serving in both the European and Pacific Theatres. He was a lifetime member of the Oregon V.F.W.
Ile was employed by Kable Brothers in Mt. Morris for 13 years as a photoengraver. He was co-founder and co-owner of DeKalb Engraving co., from 1959 until his retirement in 1983. Survivors include: his wife, Illene; four sons, Terry L. Carpenter, Oregon, Michael W. (Judy) Carpenter, DeKalb, Craig (Gretchen) Carpenter, Oregon, and Stephen A. (Susan) Carpenter, Ipswich, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Chad and Trent Carpenter, Mike Scheffers, Sara, Matthew, Amy, Jacob and Benjamin Carpenter; two brothers, William (Doris) Carpenter of Fayette, Ill. and John (Georgia) Carpenter, Leaf River; three sisters, Dorothy (Scotty) Rice, Phoeniz, Ariz., Norma Brenek, Seattle, Wash., and Zola (Carl) Wiegel, Countryside, Ill.; and several nieces and ne He was predeceasell6y his parents and a sister, Edna Anderson.
