While the Group 32 are descendants start with the unamed Carpenter-187754, the best documentation starts with a John Carpenter-120759 and thanks to the Pro-Bono 1967 genealogical effort by Samuel V. Carpenter of Ceneterville, Iowa. His book was called, "Descendants of Samuel Carpenter of Virginia - Iowa Branch."
While his book does not have a father for the said John Carpenter, that John Carpenter-120759 is the MRCA aka the most recent common ancestor to the two descendants who have Y-DNA tested.

He served as a Revolutionary War soldier. His service is referred to in a report in the Virginia State Library from 1911 to 1912. He is given as a resident of Virginia in 1790 with a family."
In a letter from the War Department, Washington, D.C. dated 5 Jul 1935 states:

Group 32 is genetically unique from other Carpenter/Zimmerman groups within the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project. This despite only two Y-DNA samples of descendants documented. WE could use more Y-DNA tests on this Carpenter line.
The Group 32 descendants are both genetically and genealogically connected. This includes those who are reasonably believed to be related but are not proved. Read the NOTES.
This file does contain mistakes. This despite great efforts to correct such. Verification is always needed of any data.
