Graveside services for Clarice Laverne Morris will be held at 10am Friday, July 17, 2015 at House Community Cemetery with Rev. Sherman Martin officiating. Visitation hours will be Thursday from 1pm to 6pm at the funeral home.

Clarice Laverne Morris, age 94 of House, NM passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 3, 1921 in House, NM to the home of Cline and Irene (Morrow) Carpenter. She attended and graduated from House High School.

Clarice Married Spence E. Morris on September 3, 1938 in Tucumcari, they made their home at House where Clarice was the cook for House Schools, House Senior Center, she was a talented seamstress and made window drapes for many years. Clarice was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing and sewing.

Clarice is preceded in death by her husband Spence E. Morris in 2013, daughter Nancy E. Morris in 2010, son Robby Z. Morris in 1974, her parents, a sister Ruby Chapline, and a brother Willard Carpenter.

Survivors include three daughters, Clarice Hencricks (Lewis) of Kalispell, Montana, Sue Morris of Midland, TX, Kathy O'Bryant of Las Vegas, NV, two sons Ricky Morris (Sara) of Clovis, and Ronny Morris of House, a sister Lorayne Hall and a brother Terry Carpenter (Sissy) all of Clovis. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Spence E. Morris, 97 a lifelong resident of House, NM died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home.

He was born February 1, 1916 in House, NM to the home of Clinton and Bertha (Loring) Morris.

Spence attended House High School. He married Clarice Laverne Carpenter on September 3, 1938 in Tucumcari, NM.

He was a longtime Quay County farmer. He enjoyed treasure hunting and had a skill for water dowsing.

Spence is preceded in death by his parents, a son Robby Morris in 1974, daughter Nancy Jones in 2010, and two sisters Beryl Morris and Pearl Morris.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and good neighbor.

He will be missed by his wife of 74 years Clarice Laverne Morris of the family home in House, three daughters Clarice Hendricks and husband Lewis of Kalispell, Montana, Sue Morris of Midland, TX, Kathy O'Bryant of Las Vegas, NV, two sons Rick Morris and wife Sara of Clovis, NM, Ronny Morris of House, NM, a brother Pete Morris of Houston, TX, a sister Gay Blair of Albuquerque, 10 grandchildren including Zane Morris, Avery Morris and Maddox Morris grandsons who will continue to carry on the Morris family name, 6 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews along with other relatives, friends and good neighbors.

The family requests memorials in Spence's memory to the House Senior Center, P.O. Box 682, House, NM 88121.

Visitation hours will be Saturday from 1pm to 6pm at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at the House Community Cemetery, 2:00 pm Sunday, June 2, 2013, with Rev. Sherman Martin officiating.

Lorayne C. Hall age 89 passed away Monday March 7, 2016, at Wheatfields Assisted Living in Clovis. Visitation will be held Thursday March 10, 2016, at Muffley Funeral Home, from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, family gathering will be 5:00PM - 7:00PM. Services will be held Friday March 11, 2016, at Kingswood United Methodist Church 2600 N Main, Clovis, NM at 10:00AM with Pastor Jim Smith officiating. Burial to follow at Mission Gardens of Memories Cemetery. Jason Patrick, Marlin Carpenter, and Forrest Carpenter will serve as pallbearers.
Lorayne was born January 22, 1927, to Cline and Irene (Morrow) Carpenter in Mangum, OK. She was member of Kingswood United Methodist Church, enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her son, Donnie (Shelly) Hall of Willis, TX; one brother, Terry (Cecilia) Carpenter of Clovis, NM; one aunt, Ruth Carpenter; three grandchildren, Courtney (Kelly) Freeman, Craig Hall, Jason (Amy) Patrick; three great grandchildren, Addison Freeman, Riker Patrick, Ridge Patrick, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cline and Irene; two sisters, and one brother.

Born on February 18, 1931 in House, New Mexico to Cline and Irene Morrow Carpenter.

Ruby married Donald Chapline on May 1, 1953 in Clovis.
Worked as an Escrow Officer.
She was a longtime resident of Clovis. After she and Don lived in Farmington for forty years, they moved back to Clovis in 1999.
Ruby loved to work in her flower garden and loved flowers.
She worked in the banking industry for over 30 years, and retired from First National Bank in Farmington.
Ruby also loved to knit and go camping, and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church.

Donald Earl Chapline, age 87, of Clovis, NM left this earth to be with the Lord on December 31, 2018 at his home in Clovis. He was born on October 6, 1931 in Olney Springs, CO to the home of Joseph S. and Faye Ellen (Dennis) Chapline.

Donald attended elementary, junior high and high school for nine years in Sheridan, WY. His first job was working as a paper boy in Sheridan. He later moved and graduated from Miles City High School in Montana. In 1952 he enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 21 and served our country for 4 years. That same year he married Ruby Jane Carpenter in Clovis. Donald and Ruby were married for 58 years and had 3 children.

Donald was well known for being a hardworking man. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad in Milwaukee, WI, the Rock Springs Journal in Rock Springs, WY, the Miles City Times in Miles City, MT, and finally the Daily Times in Farmington, NM where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. It was there that he was considered the most devoted and dedicated employee. After his retirement, they moved back to Clovis where they built their house and made Clovis their home.

Don and Ruby enjoyed camping and fishing. He enjoyed taking care of his animals. Donald raised miniature goats and was very proud of his peacocks. He also had a beautiful flower garden. During all the years of their travels, Don being a great photographer, took thousands of pictures. They both collected many souvenirs, his favorite being his Navajo collection of many beautiful pieces.

Don used to enjoy riding around Clovis to see the sites, the people and eat at restaurants then going home to relax and watch western movies.

Preceding his death are his parents; his wife Ruby; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

He leaves behind his sons, Dwayne (Georgia) Chapline of Florence, AZ, and Daryle Chapline of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter, Janella (Ryan) Watson of Farmington, NM; and his grandson, Christopher Chapline of Castle Rock, CO whom Donald had a very special bond with.

Donald is also survived by his best friend, Toby his cat.

William is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; several nieces and nephews including Bettye Downey, Bobbye Adams, Jean Duncan, Lorayne Hall, Laverne Morris, Willard Carpenter, Terry Carpenter, Gene Carpenter and Ray Price; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by a son, Pat; his parents: William Carpenter, Sr. and Emma Jane Carpenter; two sisters: Pearl Morrow and Ruth Price; three brothers: Fred Carpenter, George Carpenter and Cline Carpenter and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the House Cemetery in House, New Mexico with Sherman Martin officiating.
