Bio: Karen Jean Carpenter, 60, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her home. She was born November 2, 1952 in Enid, Ok to George and Marylin Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Marylin of Hot Springs, brothers, James Carpenter of Harrison, TN and Don and wife, Sandy Carpenter of Georgetown, TX, several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Karen was such a positive person and her family was her life. We will all miss her wonderful smile and great attitude even though she struggled with rheumatoid arthritis for 35 years. At her request she will be cremated and the family will have a service at a later date.

Willard D Carpenter, 89 was born Sept 11, 1924 to Cline and Irene Carpenter in Attica, Kansas. He passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home with his little brother and wife Cecilia by his side.
W D grew up in House, New Mexico and graduated from House High School. He married the love of his life Pearl Woodard on December 24, 1943 in Tucumcari, New Mexico
In his words: He was drafted into US ARMY, Unit 10th Mountain, 85th Infantry Regiment. We didn't take our shoes off at night because they would freeze and the next morning you couldn't get them back on. Fox holes were the safest place to sleep. I was just a kid and I was scared to death over there, I never got a scratch. Somebody up above was looking out for me.
He lived and farmed in House for several years, working side by side with his loving wife.
They moved to Clovis in 1967 where he lived till his death. W D loved to hunt, fish, garden, travel. He loved spending time with his family and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church
He is survived by his two sisters Laverne Morris, Lorayne Hall, and his little brother Terry and wife Cecilia. He was loved by and will be missed by his nieces and nephews, all of his farmer friends and his loyal C & T Fertilizer customers.
He is preceded in death by his wife Pearl, one daughter Peggy Lou and one son Donald Carl, his mother and father, sister Ruby Jane Chapline

Pearl Carpenter, 86, was born June 1, 1923, to Jess and Avey Woodard in Garden Valley, Texas. She passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home with her husband by her side.
Pearl grew up in Garden Valley, Texas and graduated from Community Center. She married the love of her life, Willard Carpenter, on December 24, 1943, in Tucumcari, New Mexico
She lived and farmed in House, New Mexico for several years, working side by side with her loving husband.
They moved to Clovis in 1967, where she lived until her death. Pearl loved to hunt, fish, garden, cook, travel, and bowl. She loved spending time with her large extended family and she was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Willard; one brother, Gene (Norene) Woodard; one sister, Ruth Caddell all of Ralls, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Narene, Mary, and Juanell Woodard. She was loved by and will be missed by thirty five nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Lou; one son, Donald Carl; her mother and father; six brothers and six sisters.
Closed casket services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Steed-Todd Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Daniel officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit the funeral home up until the services for viewing. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with her nephews being pallbearers.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Baptist Children's home in Portales.

Terry W. Carpenter was born on February 6, 1932, in Clovis, NM to Cline and Irene Morrow Carpenter. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, with his wife Cecilia, son Forrest, and daughter-in-law Nickie at his side.
Terry's early childhood years were on the family farm in House, NM and later in Clovis, NM. In high school, he played sports and for many years held the High Jump record at Clovis High School. After graduation in 1960, he was hired on in the maintenance department at the ATSF railroad and later became a Switchman, Brakeman, and finally retiring in 2002 as a Conductor for the BNSF cumulating 42 years of accident free service. To support his family, Terry worked second jobs as a carpet installer, a custom farmer at C&T Fertilizer, and later assisting on his brother Willard's farm. Terry loved to take pictures, watch the Atlanta Braves, and travel in his RV. After retirement, he competed in Senior Olympics in New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona, and a national event in Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Cecilia, sons Forrest (Nickie) Carpenter and Marlin (Sharon) Carpenter, step-daughter Christine (Alex) Bates, Aunt Ruth Carpenter, and six grandchildren (Victoria, Jacob, Taos, Alexandria, Nathan, and Hailey), and a soon to be great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Leake Carpenter, his mother and father, brother Willard Carpenter, and sisters Laverne Morris, Lorayne Hall, and Ruby Jane Chapline.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held 10:00AM Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Muffley Funeral Home Chapel. Terry will be interned at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque, NM at a later date.
