Carpenters' Encyclopedia of Carpenters - 2022 Update
The Carpenter line of New York (USA) and Ontario (Canada) is called Group 34 in the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project. Jacob Carpenter came to America during the French & Indian War then most descendants went to Canada as Loyalists after the American Revolutionary War. We use a technique to put this Group 34 together as a whole, a "DETACHED GENEALOGICALLY" lineage was added for the detached genealogical line.
NOTE: Descendants match the genetic profile for Group 34 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project. Group 34 is unique from other Carpenter and Zimmerman groups within the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project.
The Carpenter Cousins web project is an effort to update and correct Carpenter/Zimmerman and related names.
Y-DNA testing allows the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project to tell the genetic difference between this group and many others.
The number after the surname is a record information number (RIN) from the Carpenter Cousins Project master genealogical database. See: The Carpenter Cousins Project
