I have a Carpenter Family Bible In which Adam's son Charles wrote his autobiography at 82 (they are my great great & great grandfathers). Charles says his father was a riverboatman.he was owner of the Ollie Sullivan which Currier and Ives painted. He wrote: "The Ollie Sullivan was used by the United States government in building a bridge pontoon on the Cumberland river at Chalanwaga Tennessee During the war (1861 to 1865) Sherman' s Army passed over the bridge.

Bio:
Mrs. Lillie Lewis, wife of T.L. Lewis, died early Tuesday morning October 29, at her home a few miles south of this city, at age 24 years, 7 months and 29 days. She was ill but five days, the dread disease the Spanish influenza attacking her. She was laid to rest that afternoon in Little Prairie cemetery and funeral services were conducted by O.J. Friend.Mrs. Lewis was born in Lake County, Tennessee, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Minor Richardson. On December 21, 1909, she was united in marriage to T.L. Lewis and to this union were born three children, who with her husband are left surviving. She was a member of the Methodist Church and lived a consistent Christian life. Her heart was full of sympathy for all, and she was a favorite of all who knew her. Her loss will be long felt by the family and all who knew her.
To the husband and his sorrowing children, we extend our sincere sympathy in their hours of sorrow.
