These are the genetic descendants of unnamed Carpenter-210825 via two known genealogical lineages.
This Carpenter line is represented by Group 39 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project.
The Carpenter Cousins Project is an effort to update and correct Carpenter/Zimmerman and related surnames.

While the Group 39 are descendants that start with the unnamed Carpenter-210825, there are issues. Due to multiple changes of the old Washington District into a County in one state then another followed by a succession being sub-divided into new Counties with many boundary changes this has created an unique challenge for researchers.
This Carpenter lineage uses the unnamed Carpenter connector to two genetically related Carpenters. We have eliminated most but not all candidates and believe the three "children" shown are closely related, but exactly how is not known.
The base commonality connect is the Obion River and the time before Obion County was formed. One Jacob Carpenter buys 100 acres the future Obion County. The other has a son who goes to Obion County. There is a time gap between these two entries into present day Obion County. But this common denominator is suggestive that the two male Carpenter lines are closely related.
Some researchers believe that these Carpenters descend from a German Zimmerman immigrant line. But clearly, this is not proved or documented. Until further documentation comes forth, please consider the ancestry of this Carpenter line speculative.
The number after the surname is a record information number (RIN) from the Carpenter Cousins Project master genealogical database. See: The Carpenter Cousins Project
Group 39 is genetically unique from other Carpenter/Zimmerman groups within the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project. This despite only two Y-DNA samples of descendants documented. WE could really use more Y-DNA tests on this Carpenter line.
The Group 39 descendants are both genetically and genealogically connected. Read the NOTES.
This file does contain mistakes. This despite great efforts to correct such. Verification is always needed of any data.
Generally speaking, the better the documentation, the better the data is. Seriously, Please read the notes.
NOTE: Names and relationships have been retained for those living, but other details have been removed for privacy.
