Floyd T. Carpenter, 84, died Tuesday morning at Vencor Hospital, Tampa, Fla., and his wife, Ethel "Billie" Renton Carpenter, 83, died Tuesday afternoon at Deltona (Fla.) Healthcare Rehabilitation Center.The couple, who lived in Pulaski and DeBary, Fla., were married Sept. 16, 1935, at Nassau and lived in Vermont until 1951, when they moved to Pulaski.
Mr. Carpenter was born April 5, 1914, in Putney, Vt., son of Thomas P. and Florence Whitney Carpenter.
A paper plant manager in Putney and Pulaski, he later became the building and grounds superintendent at Pulaski Academy and Central School.
He was the mayor of Pulaski from 1971 to 1978 and from 1981 to 1987 and served on the village board. He worked closely with the Snow Foundation to obtain grants and gifts for the village, served on the Central New York Regional Planning Board and was a director of Western Off-Track Betting of New York State of Oswego County.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of the Pulaski Masonic Lodge, Media Temple, Watertown, Scottish Rite, Syracuse, Royal Order of Jesters, Oswego County Shrine Club, Oswego Elks Lodge and Pulaski Lions Club. He was also an honorary member of Ringgold Fire Department and a member of Park United Methodist Church.
They are survived by a son, Thomas W., Pulaski; a daughter, Patricia Hadcock, Mexico; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, two nieces and a nephew.Mr. Carpenter is also survived by a brother, Roy Carpenter, Winter Park, Fla., and a sister, Ann Clark, Newington, Conn., and Mrs. Carpenter is also survived by a sister, Ruth Phelps, Acton, Mass.
A memorial service will be held in Pulaski at a later date.
Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home.

He was born in Springfield, MA, and resided in Putney, VT, and Pulaski, NY, until his retirement in 1996 to Debary, FL.
Mr. Carpenter was a volunteer of the Ringgold Fire Co. of Pulaski, retiring after 20 years of service, a member of the Pulaski Masons, Scottish Rite, Media Shrine Club of Watertown and a past member of the Oswego County Shrine Bike Patrol, Oswego Elks Club and the Pulaski Lions Club.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Cunningham Carpenter; one daughter, Bonney Gugino of Pulaski; two sons, Thomas R. (Debbie) of Pulaski and Timothy C. (Jean) of Oswego; eight grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Ringgold Fire Co., Pulaski, NY, or the American Cancer Society.
A memorial and committal service will be announced at a later date.

Bio: Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) — Saturday, December 13, 1997Clifford F. Hadcock, 62, of 39 Pulaski Hill died Thursday at Oswego Hospital.
A life resident of Mexico, he was a machine operator 42 years for Nestle's in Fulton, retiring in 1997. He was a member and former official of Local 1974.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Patricia Carpenter; two sons, Cilfford E. of Fulton and William of Central Square; three daughters, Elizabeth English of Mexico, Florence Stevens of Pulaski and Barbara Bond of New Haven; 12 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Donald of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico.
There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to McFee Ambulance Corps of Mexico, or Park Methodist Church, Pulaski.
